How to register on a PC with no Internet connection

I installed Avast Free 2014 on my friend’s PC which has no Internet connection. I can download virus signature updates for him on to a flash drive and he can install them. All was good - until the Avast program says he must register to continue using updates. However, my friend has no way to accomplish this since he’s not connected to the Internet. I contacted Telephone Support and they repeated that there is no other way. Do any of you know of another means to register?
