Simply select Delete From Account .
(It’s very easy once you know how. ) ![]()
There is an red button in the “Settings” tab: “DELETE FROM ACCOUNT”, but clicking it only shows an overlay screen with the options “OK” and “CANCEL”. Regardless which option I choose, the device remains in the list… :-
This is verified using both IE and Chrome under win 8.1.
Things have changed some on the my.avast.com account interface

Once you select OK, the device will be history.
(Merry Christmas)
Well, you see that’s what I’d expect to happen, but in real life (that is, using Chrome or IE under Win8.1) the device still remains unaffected after clicking/selecting the “OK” button. Nothing happens, except that the dark overlay screen goes away, and I’m returned to the “Settings” view. ![]()
[edit:]
Now I have also verified this behaviour using my wifes MacBook (OSX 10.7) with both the Safari browser (v6.1.6) and Firefox (v31.0). Still the same. My devices just won’t go away…
For me, that is what happened. Like you, I also run Windows 8.1 with the latest updates on a Dell 64 Bit system.
The screenshots posted are actual screenshot made just before posting them here on the forum.
I have this SAME issue! The devices will NOT be removed from my account, even after I have followed the necessary steps! PLEASE tell us how to remove OLD devices from the account…
thank you,
sheryl
Another “same problem here” from me. I have few devices that Do Not Have the settings button available and thus there’s no option to remove them.
Best you post/ask here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=62.0
Transferring a full topic isn’t really of any help. A reply from Avast certainly might. ![]()
I’m reporting this to the Moderators in hope of getting some attention to this topic.
you found a bug! thank for sharing it! It was reported to developers. Fix is on the way (it’s not sa really dangerous issue therefore it may take a bit of time as there are other serious issues that deserve more priority ;-))
More details : Delete button is missing for Archived devices
thank you
