‘Conficker’ may get you better search results.
See http://www.avast.com/eng/win32-confi.html
Windows was patched against this in October so it’s not completely new.

I doubt it.
Thanks for the info. ;D ;D
I hasn’t check this forum for a year are two… it take me a while to find my login. haha ;D
Well, glad you made it back! Plenty of good info here…
There has been a lot of hype about Conficker, and no, it wasn’t an April Fool’s Day Joke.
As the clocks ticked over the commands were sent to infected machines for the worm to modify itself and dig deeper into the machine to make it harder to find.
Essentially, users should have installed the October patch issued by Microsoft to remove variants ‘A’ and ‘B’
The patch is available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-067.mspx
Users should also run the Malicious Software Removal Tool which is downloaded with Automatic Updates.
If users don’t have it they can get it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
Download and double click to install and run, if you already have it go to your Run command and type in mrt and click OK.
Updates post April 1st and what is known to date:
http://freepcsecurity.co.uk/2009/04/01/conficker-c-updates-april/
This includes links to a visual indicator which will show users if they are infected, a world map of the spread and a third party list of removal tools as well as updates for April 1, 2, and 3
Many rogue programs also block access to security sites preventing the download of updates or programs and also hijack the Hosts File with additional entries to redirect users to ‘alternative’ sites. Some forms also stop security programs from running altogether.
This makes users believe that they are infected with Conficker or a variant, they are not.
There is a solution to this which is very easy to implement.
Check it out here , brief video tutorial included
