hey, guys its com155 if any of u have rootkits on your pc i will show u how to remove them.so,here we go.i am going to first show u the symtoms.so, here we go:
1.google,yahoo searches redirected.
2.u cant see any proccesses running in the backround but u can see malware being downloaded from internet.
3.internet explorer constantly crashing and showing up add-on problems.
Now,comes removal:
1.use software such as combofix, gmer rootkit detecter,dr. web rescue disk or dr. web free scanner,u can also use use kaspersky tdss killer.
2.first run combofix and see what it finds.
3.run gmer and see and remove what it finds.
4.run dr. web and remove what it finds.
5.restart your pc and if u find errors or restrictions then see my last article that is basic malware fixing and tuning all done here!!!
run all the tools specified as the rootkit may have downloaded malware fron the net and so there is i compulsion to run all tools.rootkits are very nasty so if one tool doesnt catch anything do not panic as other tools are likely to catch them.so take care.
regards,
com155.
Maybe you have good intentions, but you should not recommend that people run combofix without guidance :
From little I remember of GMER, it wasn’t very good for uneducated users, either.
What “article” ???
We have a malware expert>>http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.msg451454#msg451454, and his guide. Before you take your enthusiasm out on a strangers pc, perhaps you should take that enthusiasm to school first, or your advice could turn someones pc into a brick.
oh no! i dont think so u read my article:we are virus busters.actually i fix computers for free in india so we are a team of 12 members and we all are experienced for a period of 6 to 7 years of malware destroying and making a pc clean…well combofix and gmer are simple tools not that complicated i suppose…now if i say aswbr is a complex tool.its not good it freezes in between i tried it out today…stop removing mistakes in others recommendations…no tool is 100%.
Lol, again, what “article”?
nvm, I think you mean this>>http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=80780.0
or maybe here>>http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=80830.0
Guess it doesn’t matter, they aren’t stickies so they will just drift down to obscurity.
The web is full of “virus busters”, my point is other peoples systems are not toys for you to play with especially on an official support forum for an AV that has over 130 mil users. If your advice to just run combofix and GMER (you mention nothing of posting logs, people will take action without guidance, that is bad) leads to you bricking a system, people will want to hold Avast! accountable. Am I seeing the worst possible case? Sure, and I personally think that is good practice when dealing with others property.
Anyway, DavidR already cautioned you against this stuff once, I imagine you are just going to do whatever, I’ve said my piece, do as you will.
sorry, i will be careful next time i understand that fixing pcs personaly is diffirent and on the forum is different next time i will leave this job to professionals like essexboy sorry again…
