Hello everyone, as the image below informs me that I opened a program in the sandbox, but I no longer need it. I closed the program and verified that the created sandbox folder still exists.
How do I remove/reset this folder so that it disappears!
Hello everyone, as the image below informs me that I opened a program in the sandbox, but I no longer need it. I closed the program and verified that the created sandbox folder still exists.
How do I remove/reset this folder so that it disappears!
Hello everyone, if you have any answers or solutions, please post ideas here, I will be grateful.
Try following:
Settings => “geek:area” in search bar => find “Sandbox” => find “Delete cached contents” and click “Perform”
Unfortunately it doesn’t work, I can’t find anything in the list, the only way I found is to restart the computer and then the folder is deleted.
Avast does not have an option to automatically clean temporary Sandbox files in the settings.
Thank you anyway for your help.
Sorry. When you said this command, I thought it was a translation problem, and I skipped that part, thinking you were talking about something else.
Now, with your image showing step by step, I understand how to open these options here.
I’m going to do what you told me when I get home. And I’ll give you the results.
Man, I had no idea that this was hidden in Avast. If you have more things like this, send me the commands.
Cheers, I’ll be back with the results soon.
I haven’t had a venture into the geek:area for a considerable time. So I had a visit and there is no sign of the Sandbox option within the scrollable list of functions in the geek area - trying to use the search box at the top (used to enter the geek area) doesn’t work within the geek area.
Now I don’t know if this indicates there is no Avast Sandbox function in Avast Free, I’m sure there use to be (a very long time ago perhaps) but I can see nothing now.
Maybe sandbox options are only available on paid versions. I have like this:
Maybe you’re referring to Autosandbox introduced in v7 v6 iirc. Autosandbox is renamed/upgraded into DeepScreen, now part of CyberCapture.
Hello my friend, I did as you said and yet, as the image below shows, the folder was not removed.
Remember that the only way I managed to remove this folder was by restarting the computer, but according to geek:area, even using the options you mentioned does not work. It seems that the PERFORM button is clicked but does nothing.
Maybe only the inside content be removed; that’s expected. I don’t understand why you bother these directories in the first place…
What you said is true, only the directory between the files that are inside is removed.
Now about my question about this subject, because I see that the COMODO Sandbox has an option for you to remove the sandbox without having to restart the computer, that’s why I opened this topic to see if anyone knows a way to remove this folder since I’m not using it without having to restart the computer.
But understand that this is how Avast works.
Thank you my friend, it was good to know about these GEEK:AREA options.
Thanks for the help.
