how to run GMER correctly ?

Happy New Year to all and many thaks for the help you guys provide,

My query is this , should I run GMER with both antivirus and malware detection shut down and my computer wifi connection switched off .

Also are GMER’s results trustworthy.

Well considering that the avast anti-rootkit scanner is based on GMER then the product is trustworthy, however, trusting blindly in results from any anti-rootkit is a mistake.

The major difference in the avast anti-rootkit is it is trying to take away the decisions away from the user who is for the most part not going to be able answer the question. So the GMER anti-rootkit is likely to give more detailed information, which for some can be very confusing and when a wrong decision could stuff your system, potentially dangerous.

All results are pretty much open for analysis, so for me they need to be analysed by someone with the knowledge of what it is listing.
