hello, i just downloaded and installed avast! virus detection sw (home edition), and i was wondering:
how can i set it to run a full scan on command (win2k). it ran a scan at startup. i would rather have that done manually or at least only at shutdown.

DUH! I am answering my own post because I realized that all I had to do was launch the program from the icon on the desktop 
i was looking at the taskbar and ignoring the desktop.

You can, if you wish, also schedule a scan with the taskmanager.
