How to set up firewall for anti-theft ?

Hello everyone, I started using Avast products on my Android phone very recently and I love them
However, I am having truble setting up firewall correctly to only let anti-theft packets/data from web interface through EDGE/3G. The reason is that I do not have any special data plan so I don’t want any other traffic through.

I tried that: I’ve set firewall to whitelist mode, enabled WiFi for all apps and checked 3G and EDGE boxes by Avast app and anti theft app (disguised name) with no luck.
When I disable firwall all together/allow all traffic it works fine.

I hope someone has an answer/link for solution, because it would really be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I just noticed it’s sometimes “random”, for example a minute earlier I was having firewall set up as a described in first post, I could turn on the siren, but turn off signal got timed out.

I’m pretty sure for avast! Mobile Security’s firewall to work, your phone, and application has to be rooted. Please confirm if you have the rooted version, or if your phone/tablet is rooted.

Oh yes, forgot to say that I’m fully rooted.

The firewall is working correctly, the problem is that it’s not letting anti theft traffic through.
It would be a bit easier if someone has information how phone gets information from web interface, if phone requests the data, on which port, to which IP etc.

Thanks !

What things from anti theft are not getting through? Do you mean like remote commands?

Yes, SMS commands work, but remote commands are hit and miss. (Mostly doesn’t work)

It may be an IP port issue. I’m not very knowledgeable on this, but this is my best guess. Try and contact avast directly.
