I found ‘Visicom Media Inc’ - anti phishing domain advisor in the program list…
I think this was installed when downloading & installing some other software…
That’s probably some kind of anti-phishing software accessing a Malicious Site and avast! is blocking it from accessing the Malicious URL and protecting you PC from it…the software itself isnt malware but trying to import malware and avast is blocking it from doing the import
I think essexboy was asking for the OTL log so he could see if anything was left over after you uninstalled Visicom Media Inc. I think he just wants to check for you, nothing more.
You can always remove the log later after you are done by selecting ‘Modify’ on the post in question, if you wish.
Yep, I think that was what essexboy was getting at, removing everything that might be left behind after you uninstalled. He will do it for free, and he knows what he is doing. He just needs the OTL scan log attached in your next reply. You will then run the fix he makes just for you after he analyses the log you provide.
That’s normal, since as when a file is digitally unsigned, an a/v such as McAfee will alert.
If you wish to resolve your issue, you will need to go offline, you may need to disable McAfee temporarily (until the next system restart is suggested) and introduce OTL by USB flash drive. Once you have the scan log, open OTL once again and click the cleanup button. The next restart should re-enable McAfee, and since OTL has been uninstalled before the reboot, McAfee should not alert, and you should be able to post your scan log in your next reply.
OTL here is being used only as a diagnostic tool here only, no changes will be made to your system, unless essexboy finds something and proposes a fix for you to run with OTL later, after he reviews your logs.
He may very well report nothing is amiss, that you are clean.
EDIT: If you are not getting the alert popups anymore, there likely is no need to go through with any of the above.
