Hi All,
I have a small SSD for my laptop and avast is creating MASSIVE logs. 10% of my SSD.
Need a way to stop it.

Yes, under maintenance and log.
The box was never ticked. Is the the only way to uninstall Avast?

It is my understanding that if avast! is creating those UNP.xxxxx.mdmp something is not right with the program.
How did you install it ? Over V.8 or clean installation ?

What OS/service pack are you using?

Pretty sure it is a clean install. Since the computer is new.
Windows 8, wait for 8.1
8.0.1497
I have auto update on.
Is this a windows 8 thing? Wife PC has windows 7 and the log files was much smaller

I wonder why there is a old version of avast installed if the computer is new…
I suggest you remove that version using the avast removal tool and do a real clean install of the latest version.

Is avast working or crashing on the machine that produces these dumps?

That is interesting. I have the program on automatic update, but it is not doing update.
I haven’t seen the program crush. Unless it crushes but it doesn’t tell me. Going to up date the program and see what happens.
Edit: auto spell on the phone
