How to turn off SPAM filter

Hi guys, I’ve searched everywhere but can’t find how to turn Avast’s spam filter off. I can find nothing under Mail Shields settings & just want to turn the darn thing off as most of my messages are being marked as SPAM & are also being moved to another folder. Using version 12.3.2280 if that helps.

What exact version of avast ?
What mail client ?

What avast version are you using, e.g. avast Free/Pro/AIS/Premier ?

The reason I ask is the anti-spam feature as far as I’m aware is only available on paid products.

If you are using avast Free, what email client do you use (MS Outlook has an avast plug-in for spam) ?

Dang! I forgot to mention I’m using the free version & the email client is Thunderbird. Thanx for the quick response guys.

There is no spam filter in the free version.

There may not be now, but there was in a previous free version which I setup. I’m guessing the only way round it is to uninstall & re-install?

Yep, perform a clean reinstall.

  1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
