Hello.
I was using Pip to install a package.
Then when I used a command of a specific package, Avast blocked the program(the package, not Pip).
I accidentally clicked X, (closed the window)instead of clicking ‘Add exclusion’. I don’t know the program path so I can’t add the exclusion manually.
I am currently using Avast One Essential(Free), if you know how to view and cancel the programs Avast blocked and send the method here, it would be awesome.
Thanks for reading.
Hi,
Did you receive a threat notification? Perhaps it is in quarantine ( Avast One > Explore > Quarantine)
If it was quarantined, then it would be best to send it for analysis.
I it wasn’t in quarantine…
I am sure the file is harmless.
Even if I scan it manually it says no threats found.
I am currently using Avast One in Windows 11 Stable build.
Can’t you re-install the package?
Hi,
From what I understand, the file is not in quarantine but blocked by Avast.
Please look in Explore>Ransomeware Protection>View Protected folders>App permissions
or
Explore>Firewall>Open Firewall>All Apps
or
Explore>Sensitive Data Shield>Open Sensitive Data Shield> App permissions
Hi,
I am having a similar problem. I accidentally blocked a couple of apps - Notepad for example. The problem is that I went to all of the locations in Avast One that the prior post recommends to look at. There are no blocked apps listed, especially the ones I have accidentally blocked. I tried to reset Avast One and it did not help, Notepad simply won’t start now.
Can anyone help?
Hi,
If it is not in those locations, it is probably not blocked by Avast. Why do you say it is blocked by Avast One? Did you receive any notification from Avast One about blocked apps or something similar?
I know it is blocked by Avast One because a dialogue box came up asking me if the program was malicious. I set it up a while ago to manually ask me if things should be blocked. In error I clicked on block app.
If that is the case, it has to be in one of those locations. Please have a look at those locations again.
