Hi all,
Recently I've had an issue with a random virus showing up on a web scan log, but on no other active scans I've performed. I've done boot scans and full system scans with Avast and nothing comes up still. Despite this, I'm still a little concerned about that report in the log. When I click on either move to virus chest or delete in the drop down menu nothing happens. The result bar stays blank. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this?
Also, the (modified for everyone's protection with x's and q's) suspected virus reads as:
Hxxp://qqq.racketboy.com/wp-content/themes/racketboy/js/query.js?ver=1.4.4
Thanks!
Hi Compguy, welcome to the forum
First off, what version of avast are you using?
The webshield log simply lists all of the sites that have been blocked by the webshield before they get to your machine. They are not an indication of an infection.
The reason I asked what version of avast, is because some previous versions had conflicting sections of that log which suggested that it was in fact an infection. I would bet that this is the reason that you are selecting an option, and nothing is happening. This is because there is nothing to be done, the site was already blocked.
Take a look at the image for how it looks in a newer version. (currently 6.0.1125)

i suggest apart from the suggestion in the previous post to do a scan with malwarebytes antimalware for an second opion.

donload, install, update and do a scan. don’t forget to remove what it finds. system reboot might be necessary if so do so.
good luck and let us know on the progress or if you need any more help/support.
