HTTP 502 - Gateway timeout

Hello

I am trying to get into my yahoo.uk email account and keep getting THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED with the reason:

HTTP 502 - Gateway timeout

avast! Web Proxy

Is it anything to do with Avast or is it something else?

I do have zone alarm

i’ve had the same pb with another site… it was because the server of this site was very busy (too much traffic !)

see i ZA is ok with avast (ticked in green)

thanks for that but I’ve never known the server to be busy all day!

Have you performed the usual checkup?

  1. verification of firewall rules
  2. testing the page with resident protection disabled
  3. access to other pages

Actually, I’m having a similar problem getting to a system running a java application(requires the latest version of the sun java client) running on my home LAN.

When I turn off avast, it works fine. With avast turned on, it either takes 10 minutes to load or gets the same error as mentioned in the first post.

I’ve even turned-off each individual provider without success.

Being new to this forum, does support look at these posts?

Actually, I'm having a similar problem
Simulair but not the same. You should start a new thread (after using the search option on this board)
When I turn off avast, it works fine.......
Turning off each provider or completely shutting them down?

Already added the site to the exclusion list?
If so, what was the result?
Have you tried throughout the day and for several days to make sure it wasn’t a fault/problem at the server?
