I am on W7 running avast Internet security v12.3.2280 and have noticed an increasingly large log file in the spamconf folder whilst doing some house keeping.
Its currently just over 2GB in size and is still adding kb literally every second.
Ive not noticed this issue on previous PC’s that have avast installed and doesnt seem right to me.
Can I delete/disable/reconfigure avast to prevent it chewing up HD space?
As I mentioned, its the actual ‘log’ file in the spamconf folder. The log file is over 2GB in size and getting bigger. I have since seen this problem mentioned elsewhere on the forum. Apparently this is an known issue and has supposedly been addressed by avast in recent updates.
I dont know enough about it to start messing around in there but I need to get this sorted otherwise its just going to carry on chewing HD space.
As Asyn already mentioned, if this is simply a single log file just delete it.
I’d keep an eye on it for the next few days but suspect it’s an old bug that just hasn’t been cleared on your system.
