Avast is blocking me from accessing a website I regularly access and do business with in Canada saying it contains Malware.
I have scanned the site at Sucuri SiteCheck, Web Inspector, Virus Total, Scanurl and all report NO malware at the site - that this is a CLEAN site. I have submitted this as a False Positive a couple of weeks ago and nothing has changed in Avast. . I submitted it as a false positive again today.
Wow Pondus! I have never heard of “afraid.org” (what an odd name for a website host! I suppose they want to strike fear into the hearts of web visitors? ;D )
I did run the scans on various sites and do know the company (I know that doesn’t matter if a 3rd party installed malware). I have repeatedly asked them to have their webmaster scan the site, but I don’t think I’ve gotten anywhere. So I scanned it myself at the online sites.
I will submit it at the link you gave me for the virus lab. Thank you for your help!
Looked at all the links you posted, however I am only a customer and likely cannot influence them to change DNS provider. They are stubborn and not very concerned.
The site did test clean however I do see the risk potential on afraid.com.
Can they ‘take control’ of their subdomains without changing hosts?
Do they have to change hosting provider to change DNS?
The only problem is you are being hosted at afraid dot org. That is why Avast blocked your site. Whenever you steer away from hosting there your website might come unblocked. This is being performed by an Avast Team Member as we here are not. So contact them after you/they have changed away from afraid dot org. Try to convince them of the fact that Avast is not blocking this website lightly and specifically for a reason because of the threat a visit to the site could mean to the Avast users.
Stubbornness and not being very concerned has never helped anyone in life very much ;D
Ignorance can be a bless for some, but mostly not for long ;D
