I can’t see the refund option please HELP

Today i was charged by Avast 129€ for service i had on automatic payment and forgot about. When i tried to ask for refund i could not see that option in order history, yet it says that i am eligible for a refund until march 26. When i click on request refund option it opens new window with customer support. There is no “what would you like to do” window with refund option. I tried to do this on my mobile device as well as on my computer. I am really frustrated by that they charged me without asking and making refund as hard as possible for people to leave it be i guess. Thank you all in advance for your help.

I do think this torturous circular maze to get a refund needs to be made easier.

I have had many paid programs in over 30 years and I have never signed up to a continuous/auto mandate to renew subscriptions. I have purchased several lifetime licenses and all but one the company lifetime lasted less than the software.

Yes i tried this guide but the step number 4 is showing a pop up window “what would you like to do next” and i dont see this, it basicly does not allow me to continue with the refund form. I also dont subscribe to automatic renew of license exept of my music and movie streaming accounts but avast seems to set this to automatic by itself when new license is purchased. These are some shady practices, it does not even remind you that your current license is about to expire and takes your money without consent one month before the original payed license expire.

I just contacted customer support via chat. They helped me with my issue and promised me a refund, i should be notified about it via email. I will let you know how it went from there and if i recieved my refund for future customers that would stumble across this issue. I also have to say that i was actualy notified of this payment by email a month ago, i just did not notice it so i have to blame myself for all these troubles i guess.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member. Just trying to point you in what I hoped was the direction.

I only use the Avast Antivirus Free version, so I have never had to deal with this.

For all the people that are having same issue. I did recieve an e-mail today with confirmation of refund, i should have money back within 7 days. First of all, be careful when purchasing avast licence, they set auto-renewal as default, you will have to turn it off by yourself. Also pay attention to your e-mails from avast, most od them will be marketing ones but somewhere between them they could send you a warning that they will charge you and it is realy easy to not notice (that was my mistake, i unfortunately did not look twice at warning e-mail, mistaken it for another promo/marketing one and deleted it). If you find yourself in situation where they took your money and you want a refund, try to look in their refund guide, if you cant continue with the form and you dont have option to submit refund in step no. 4 as i did, just contact their tech support via chat. I also recorded my conversation with technician but this is optional. In chat you should be able to comunicate the problem and technician will submit refund for you. It is very sneaky how avast takes its customers money, also they make it hard as possible to ask for a refund but this is the world we live in right now i guess and we all should pay attention where and how are we charged. Thank you all for help, i hope this thread will reach someone who needs in the future so all of this was not for nothing.
