I canceled my account and got a refund a year ago... I was jsut charged again!

:frowning: I am very concerned because I canceled my avast account a year ago, waited almost three months to get my refund and I’ve just been charged again!

I no longer want this software, use it and I thought that was pretty clear when I requested a refund a year ago.

What do I have to do to get in touch with a real person to get this resolved as quickly as possible?

I submitted a ticket ( Ticket ID: [#50662] ) but I don’t want to wait weeks again to even get a reply… this is very frustrating!

How did you cancel your account ?

I submitted a ticket because there is no number to call.

I’ve still got the emails, I submitted the ticket on 12/15/2014 and didn’t hear back until 2/2/2015 and it was another two weeks until I received the refund.

I was under the impression that I would never be charged again, but here it is renewal time and I was charged again.

Very frustrating!

You need to disable the auto-renewal.

Eddy, that would be fine but my original account doesn’t even exist anymore. Part of my request last year was not only for the refund but to remove my account. I had to create a new account just to submit a ticket and request another refund because again there is no phone number to call and talk to someone about billing. Thanks for trying to help, but I just want this taken care of.

avast has changed the support and it has been improved.
They try to handle tickets within 10 business days.
Mostly people get a response within 2-3 days.

It may speed up things (a bit?) if you post your current ticket number here.

That’s good to know because waiting two months to get a response last time was very unsettling.

I did post the ticket number in the first post of this thread, that was my hope that it would help move things along.

I’ll post it one more time to further my hopes of a timely response… ( Ticket ID: [#50662] )

Thanks Eddy!

@ Jeffery5,
Avast has been alerted.

Jeffery,

please let us know if you heart anything from avast.

I have not heard anything from customer support regarding my ticket yet. It was mentioned that it might take a day or two so I’m still hopeful this will be resolved soon. Thanks for checking Eddy and appreciate you letting me know Bob.

Indeed, they mostly respond in 2-3 days since the new ticket system is in place.
Ofcourse it depends on how busy it is, if it is weekend, a holiday and such.

Whatever you do, do not submit a new ticket and do not change the existing one.
If you do, you will have to wait longer since it is a FiFo system.
New ticket(s)/changing things will put you back to the bottom of the stack.
