I can't open my Avast!

When I click the avast! icon it never opens.
When I right-click it the menu doesn’t show up.
When I clicked the shortcut it didn’t open.
I tryed every one of them but it still didn’t work.
Help me?
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Avast version: LATEST version.

Download a fresh copy of avast and the avastclear tool from here and save http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=149104.msg1083230

Run the clear tool will ask to reboot to safe mode “please accept” once completed reboot back to normal mode and install the newly saved copy of avast ( choose custom install mode to remove unnecessary features )

You could try a repair via uninstall/repair but from what you have explained I don’t think it will work, clean install would be best imo and make sure all remnants of previous AV’s have been removed with their own removal tools http://www.avast.com/en-gb/faq.php?article=AVKB11
