I think C:\hiberfil.sys is your hibernate file. I can’t remember the steps but I think you disable and possibly delete then reboot and enable it again. You’ll have to search for your version of Windows for all the steps.

I dont get what you mean Joe…
I think when you disable hibernate it will delete the file or possibly you may have to do it manually. Then reboot and enable it again and Windows will create a new one. That should get rid of the problem of the infected file.

Thanks a lot!!
I can’t still move to chest…
But it didn’t freeze on me.
WHAT DOES REPAIR MEAN??? AND WHY CAN"T I REPAIR MY FILES??
You won’t be able to move it to the chest as a) it would exceed the max file size to send (can be changed in virus chest settings), but b) honestly there is little point in doing that.
As far as any repair goes, first is is only viruses that can actually be repaired and this is a trojan detection.
Trojans generally can’t be repaired by the avast virus cleaner, because the entire content of the file is malware, so it is either move to chest or delete, move to the chest being the best option (first do no harm), but in this case where the file is likely to be very large the size of memory, that really isn’t an option. So you’re looking at disabling hibernation and rebooting, that I believe should clear/remove hiberfil.sys. You can then enable hibernation again.
I don’t use hibernation, but I believe you can change the settings to remove the hiberfil.sys on shutdown, but I think this may add some time to the normal shutdown duration.
Repair means to try and repair/clean the file so it can be used without the threats. And most likely you aren’t able to repair your files because you have a trojan infectionn not a virus.
