Hiya,
I’ve been a user and dealer of Avast products for a long time.
Pop ups used to just niggle me, BUT as a VPN user (not yours) I get annoyed by you telling me that anybody can see what I’m doing.
They can’t.
Today, while trying to talk to the government online I got another one.
That’s it. I’ve disabled ALL pop ups from you, thereby rendering part of the software useless.
If I see another one I’ll be uninstalling IS permanently.
I paid for Avast Internet Security and Secureline VPN and it’s still bugging me to buy more of their software (Cleanup notifications) - really irritating that they use their paid products to bug their customers with ads. I can understand doing that with the free version or even discreet ads, but notifications that problems have been found, which are simply designed to get you to spend even more money, really turns me off Avast. Once my subscription runs out Avast is GONE!!!
Had with continual requests to buy clean up. I don’t want to buy it. I don’t want the messages.
Avast is behaving like Spam. I am so fed up I am checking out which alternative to use instead. Don’t care I have months left on the term, just fed up.
That popup is not from Avast, you need to go to Programs and Features/Uninstall Programs and remove the extra 3rd party security software you have installed ( Advanced System Repair )
I think you need to read the popups correctly, Defender states “in yellow highlight” Avast Internet Security, in your previous post the popup states “Advanced System Repair” which is a completely different program (likely malware) that needs to be removed from your system.
Again! Advanced Security which is Avast Internet Security is not “Advanced System Repair” notice the logo I’ve highlighted from your popup…it’s not an Avast popup as mentioned it’s “Advanced Sytem Repair”
Bob, the only thing is that the program isn’t listed in the installed programs list so it may have been uninstalled incorrectly or not letting itself be removed due to being scamware, which will then mean either re-installing the software followed by an uninstall and if that fails to remove it then navigating through the Program Files and Program Data to manually strip out all evidence of Advanced System Repair will be required.
Another option is to run the tools and post required logs from the viruses and worms board and wait for one of the malware guys to remove it for her.
