I have a question concerning multiple device coverage...

To be honest I’m not sure where I should be asking this, if this isn’t the right place to be asking this, if someone could direct me to a better forum/thread I’d appreciate it.

Anyway, my question is, I have a laptop that I signed up for the “complete protection”, I’m not entirely sure what that entails, but it covered my laptop(the one I’m posting on right now) for several months or maybe it was a year. However, my laptop stopped working quite some time ago, and I had to send it in for repairs, and in the meantime, I got a desktop computer.

My desktop computer came with a free subscription of Avast, and when it ran out it asked me if I wanted to renew it for a year or switch to the free version, I felt like it was worth renewing since it didn’t seem too expensive for a year of protection, and I’d rather not get any stupid virus’s that Avast has been keeping me safe from, but heres where my question comes into place.

I now have my laptop back, and it’s telling me I only have 3 days left of protection on it, but I just recently purchased a year on my desktop. When I signed up for the year I don’t remember creating an Avast account, it just asked me if I wanted to “renew” my protection, I clicked yes and bought a new subscription to it.

My question is, is there any way to link my two devices(or more if I get another computer later), and can my year of protection cover both computers? Would this cost more? Are both of my devices already signed up to two separate Avast accounts that I’m not familiar with? If someone could help me figure out how to merge the two devices under the same Avast account, I’d be really grateful, or if you could tell me how multiple device coverage works that too would help, does each device need its own security?

and can my year of protection cover both computers?
is your license valid for more then one computer? did you recive a mail from avast with license and info?

if valid for more then one, then insert that licens in the computer you want to protect

Um… I’m not sure? When I tried to look into my avast thing I tried to see what email I may have used, but every one I tried kept coming back as “an account under this email has no been registered” or something similar, I don’t remember signing up for an account ever, my computer came pre-shipped with a free subscription of Avast, and when I renewed it I don’t remember what kind of license it had, where would I go to see what it was? And how can I tell what email my account is registered to?

If you paid money, then you should have received a license file.
If you didn’t pay any money then you have the free version and you register it through the User Interface.

If your copy needs to be registered, you’ll find the information here.
Be sure to always select stay with the free version unless you’re ready to upgrade to a paid version.

I did pay for them, the laptop had 3 days left under the internet protection, and my desktop has until may first, but after following pondus’s suggestion i asked for them to send me my license under my assumed email registration, which they did, and then I messed around extensively in the menus of Avast until I figured out how to sign up my devices under facebook, and signed both devices to the same facebook, then I sent the license to my laptop and ran the license, now they are both covered until may first

Thank you both for your help, much appreciated

Glad you where able to sort everything out.
