I was wondering that with 4.8 what should the setting be, as far as taking extra precaution to asure no virus get in. I have realised there are alot of program setting.

I do you it for Music Production “as a Hobby not serious production”
I do alot of file transfers thru AIM
And I do some times Download files using Bitcomet. Which I know some torrents are infested with Virus’ like a hot hooker.

These are program settings and not the providers (protection) ones. In the Pro version, on Tasks, right-click to edit their properties.
But, before anything, learn more about avast. Generally, the default settings are enough for protection and a good balance for common users.
avast is very very configurable, so it’s not possible to put a list of the ‘best’ configurations.

Right click the ‘a’ blue icon.
Start avast antivirus (if it comes a ‘skin’ featured, right click it and change to the Enhanced Interface).
When you’re on the Pro version, at left, will be a folder with the Tasks.
