I miss Avast sound on update and icon rotation

For many days I hear no voice notification that definitions got updated. Ever since v9 came in, I, of course, get the slideup about update is available. But Avast spoke regardless. Now it’s silent.
Also the @ icon is no longer rotating when it scans as I open programs.
Both updates and file scans do occur, so the functionality is intact, but I really miss the sound and the visuals.

Is there a way to fix it?

Avast GUI > Settings > Appearance > Tray Icon … are both items checked ?

Avast > Settings > Appearance > Sounds … Enable sounds … selected ?

If both are selected but not working, then try a repair of avast.

Everything on these are checked and always worked till recently. Sorry, I should have mentioned that obvious fact.
Repair will do default settings, so I see no point really. What will it do besides default settings?
Any other ideas?

As it say…repair a possible corrupted install…

OK, I will do that for one reason only - can’t expect help here if I don’t follow your advices

But before I do, how can it be corrupted install when I installed months ago. You’d think corrupted install would have shown up by now in some important way.

As I suspected, repair didn’t repair.

After reboot, the @ icon rotated, just to run avast.setup, and avastEmUpdate.exe. As before, just the blue update to v9 notice came in, but no voice.
Running programs - icon is not rotating any more. It worked fine few days back, and then broke. That’s all I know.
Annoying :frowning:
