I installed avast 4 home and before i restart the system i get the following error message:
avast will not be able to protect outgoing mail (stmp protocol) error 10106
the same error appears again with pop3 protocol and for imap protocol. the error messages appear again at boot up. i have no other virus scanner in place. tried setting manually and automatically, both give the error messages. this is the aswmaisv.log file

I only have one e-mail account and it is a pop3
someone please help.
not sure what you mean by common names. these errors just keep appearing. yes i did use mail wizard and choose each setting avaible. i am using outlook express 6 and i did follow the tutorial avaible on this forum.
just remove mail and replace it with my user name and you have the settings
ie mail.isp name (same in and outgoing mail)
user name@isp name
i do not need a secure connection to receive and send mail. never tried to send mail as i like everything to work before i send out mail (no errors)
Error 10106 = The requested service provider could not be loaded or initialized.
Don’t you have some tcp/ip configuration problem, or a conflict between the mail scanner and a firewall ?
