Alright, I’m posting this on my phone because that’s the kind of situation I’m in.
On the 28th Norton antivirus started detecting security issues within files like shell.exe, svchost.exe, and something called W32.SillyFDC. That night I started getting redirected to different websites when I’d click links on google. That’s when I realized I had an issue. I asked for help and my brother and I tried to use scanners specifically made to find some backdoor.something or another virus. Although the description of the viruses were the same, they didn’t find anything.
This morning I installed Avast and let it do a scan. It found a trojan.gen in my dwm.exe file, and around the same time Nortan found a backdoor.cycbot virus and quarantined it. Since then, I haven’t had any issues with the virus popping back up but I can’t use my internet!
I have internet access, I can talk to a friend on MSN but chrome and internet explorer can’t connect to the internet. I figured that avast quarantined dwm.exe which might be a vital process in internet browsers. Its still in my “chest” but I can’t clean it of the virus. I need to restore it to get my internet back but I don’t want to restore the virus.
My brother says my best bet is to reformat, which is my last resort but I need to have this situated by tomorrow.
DMW is not part of XP - you need to remove either Norton or Avast as two AV’s is bad Ju Ju

[*]Make sure you close all other programs and don’t use the PC while the scan runs.
[*]Select All Users
[*]Under additional scans select the following Reg - NetSvcs
Reg - Shell Spawning
Evnt - EventViewer Logs (Last 10 Errors)
File - Lop Check
File - Purity Scan
[*]Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar. Make sure not to use the PC while the program is running or it will freeze.
[*]When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
[*]Please attach the log in your next post.
@ Biko10, reyna annaðhvort við tvö verkfæri tengd yfir. Í fyrsta lagi er forrit sem er sett upp. The second forrit sem mun immunize og hreinn glampi ökuferð. Ef fyrsta nær ekki að vinna, reyna á sekúndu.
Líka prófað ókeypis útgáfu af MBAM (líta niður). Setja það upp, uppfæra hana, hlaupa fljótur grannskoða.
