[I NEED URGENT HELP] Avast! Premier 2014 memory error message

I just rebooted my system (just finished installing avast! premier 2014) and then, when I tried to initialize the avast! UI, this message pop up on the screen:

“The instruction at 0x773ea202 referenced memory at 0x00000050. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program”

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 32-bit.
Every time when I want to start avast that error message pops up.
Any fixes?

Download the avast removal tool and a fresh copy of avast from here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=138753.0 and save.

Run the removal tool which will ask to reboot to safe mode and accept and when finished re-install the newly downloaded avast.

Going to try it!

No, It didn’t work! I still get the error message! :frowning:

Have you rebooted the system?

What AV was being used prior to installing avast and how did you remove it? is there any other security software installed on this system?

I removed the other version with avastclear.exe and reinstalled avast! Premier 2014 version 9.0.2007. I don’t use any other security software.
But also when I reboot, I still get the error message when I want to start up the avast! UI.

Follow the instructions here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.msg451454 to download and run OTL then attach the logs created back here to your next post please.

Okay this is it

Well straight off I can see you have Advanced System Care by Iobit installed “Malware Fighter” ( you said there was no other security installed ??? ) this will need to be removed, number 17 in the list http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/ is the Iobt removal tool which should be run after uninstalling normally.

Bitdefender has also been installed in the past so you will find a removal tool at the same site I supplied you a link to for Iobit.

Once all that is removed and the system has been rebooted you’ll probably have to perform a clean install of avast as these other programs that are installed have more than likely corrupted the Avast install.

Craigb, I am gonna do it, and If all you said will work, I am gonna put you on my favourite list 4ever

:‘( :’( :‘( :’( Still the same error message but now it says "The instruction at 0x7735a202 referenced memory at 0x00000050. The memory could not be read.
WHYY

I’ve asked essexboy to have a look into it for you, please be patient.

It might be helpful if you could re-run OTL and attach a new log please so we can see the changes made after the removal.

That would help… Also could you run sfc to verify windows files

To do this open an elevated command prompt :

Go Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right click command prompt and select run as administrator
In the black box that opens type the following command :

sfc /scannow

Allow it to complete
Reboot and try again

I did a Full OTL scan and this we’re the results
And I did a SFC and it said it didn’t find any integrity violations.

P.S.: I installed avast! premier 2014 on my friends pc and it said the same memory error message

Oops, i forgot to post the file xD

Why is Avast installed on drive V ? Also does your friend have VMware installed ?
