i on icon of avast one and when I clicked it ran a smart scan
I don’t have scheduled scans on so why did you do this?
I don’t use Avast One, so I can’t speak from personal experience.
However, I not sure which icon you speak of - you can post a screen shot of it and we can see your starting point.
That said if this is Avast Free for Windows there is a specific sub-forum for that product - Avast One for Windows - Avast Community
It went away when I clicked it but it was a blue with a white i in it almost like a notification for something had it happen before
It is an Info Icon, which I feel is incorrectly used (in your case) by first doing a scan on your system.
It happened on my system after a program update effectively treating me as a new user. But it didn’t run a scan in my case. Though it may have offered it but I didn’t accept.
It also happened in some other areas (Info) on these functions, areas which I was very familiar with. I just cycled through these.
