Well… sigh I think I have a virus. Ok here’s the symptoms:
I’m gonna be on for a while so I will have quick responses so don’t go anywhere
I have Windows Vista SP1
Some programs now refuse to start up, I had a real hard time opening avast! and other security software.
Some times my computer fails to restart (When I click restart it’ll shut down then lock the system up)
Firefox sometimes starts automatically (a web page (my home page) just appears.)
My computer is getting a little slow…
Right now it’s fine, but sometimes it’s even hard just to get some of my programs to start up.
Incase you refer hijackthis… I don’t know how to use it so I might need a guide.
I did a boot time scan (I scanned archive files too)
It could not scan 4 files
here is an example error message: C:\Program Files\Scansoft\om(n?)ipagesE4.0\opproger.chm# To pics Error 42136 {CHM
then I got another one this error message says error 42136{CHM archive NETFILE_15.swf is corrupted
I did a full scan with SUPERantispyware nothing found not even a tracking cookie.
I’m scanning with spybot right now…
Here is all my security apps:
Linkscanner Pro trial
Avast! Free edition
SAS
Spybot S&D
SpywareBlaster
COMODO Firewall Pro
P.S My computer is also real slow… (I use ccleaner)

OK lets try a quick and dirty scan to see what I can glean from that
Download & Run HijackThis.exe
[*]Download HJTInstall.exe to your Desktop.
[*]Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install it.
[*]By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
[*]Click on Install .
[*]It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
[*]Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis .
[*]Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
[*]Copy/Paste the log to your next reply please.
Don’t use the Analyse This button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
Don’t have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Ok, thanks essexboy for this. A little guide on how to run HijackThis. There are plenty of people who know how to read this log file here. And for the time being, you might want to perform an online scan. Kaspersky is a good choice for this. The free Kaspersky Online Scanner does not scan boot sectors and MBRs, so it cannot detect malicious code located in these areas. http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/english/kavwebscan.html

I’ll do the online scan first… I’ll report if it finds anything.

WAIT!!! those symbols were with the link you gave me… should I delete that entry? Please tell me if this can harm my computer first.
It won’t harm your computer- it’s an application not a part of the system.
Zap it and reboot.

OH NO :o :o :o :o :o
It’s in the log but not in the hijackthis menu!!!
I looked all over for it but it’s only in the textpad log not the log after u click scan!
You could try disabling it in Startup and see if the problem persists.
To remove it, use RegEdit:
Go Start. In Start search bar, type in:
regedit
Hit Enter
Registry Editor will open.
Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
In right pane, look for a wacky entry like:
Code:
[?????????] ??????????????e
If found, right click, and Delete
