i want all avast products to run only when i open them and never start on their own or run in the background without being started manually. I have the complete suite of products and am annoyed by avast popups and it using system resources when I dont want any of them running. Anyone have any ideas?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
I also don’t use the Avast One product but the Avast Antivirus Free, which differs in components and settings, so I can’t speak from personal experience.
Avast is an on-access antivirus and isn’t designed to run on-demand (in the way you describe), whilst you could disable individual shields, such as the Web Shield. Which would obviously leave you vulnerable.
You don’t say what other Avast Products so I can’t comment.
