IE Script Error

My particular error message is:

Internet Explorer Script Error
Line: 25
Char: 2
Error: ‘window.parent.parent.TopFrame.document’
is null or not an object.
Code: 0
URL: mhtml:mid // 00000000 /
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
Yes / No.

I tried SR, IE Fix and Scanreg /Fix with no joy.
Can it be fixed without formatting?

Which is your operational system?
Did you apply all Windows updates?
What are your doing when the error appear?
Which page were you browsing?

  1. My OS is Win ME, v. 4.90.3000A

  2. Windows Updates are as current as can be.

  3. The error occurred after I finished a reg-fix with Registry
    Mechanic to correct another situation. When I restored
    the fix because of the error message, it must not have
    restored everything, because the error was still there.
    It shows up when I work with Outlook Express emails
    and not all of them, only certain ones.
    I have done the three things I mentioned, without success.
    Is there something else that can be done to eliminate the
    error message, without buying a program?

Webster, most probably is some problem with Win Me and/or IE.
But it’s strange that appears when you work with Outlook Express emails…

It’s too late for me to have the ideas clear and sharp… :-[
I’ll thing on my car tomorrow, listening music and trying to get some inspiration 8)

This would appear to be nothing more than poor coding in a web page using frames. Unless this is happening for every page you browse, which I think unlikely.

You can disable the display of IE Scripting Errors and all you will notice is the Yellow triangle with a shrike ! in it. Sorry not to be more helpful with how to disable the display of IE script errors, I haven’t used IE in a loooong time.

Edit: Light Bulb Moment - I just saw the URL - ‘URL: mhtml:mid // 00000000 /’ this looks like it is off-line content (an mhtml file or html email) or so it looks and something that the code is looking for is not available off-line hence the script error - At least that is what I think.

When did this happen and what was it you were viewing?

have you activated the family control filter (sorry, I don’t know exactly the name of this feature in english) in IE?

It is not enabled on my machine.

This only happens when I reply to emails in Outlook Express and I don’t think its every one of them.
And I am online while I get the error.
I answer with ‘no’ or ‘yes’, depending on how I feel at the moment, because there don’t seem to be any obvious consequences.
Maybe Google can help to reveal the secret of disabling the error for me.
