IEXPLORE - Suspicious item has been detected

I never use IE and it’s still IE6 but I wanted to try something now and all of a sudden avast says that the file is:
Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]

And when I scan it inside the chest,it says “- no virus found -”
Also if I archive the file and scan the archive, avast don’t say anything

Avast Home 8.0.1489 on Windows XP

Update to IE8 and then see if you get the alert

Um why…I never ever use IE and this is the first time it ever happen

IE is an integral part of windows and should always be updated even if you do not use it, as it will affect your security

I guess I won’t get an answer.
I’m not asking “should I update”,I don’t care how unsafe I’ll be if I don’t update IE(for the past 7 years I never even once had to deal with problems related to malware),but why all of a sudden avast label some file as suspicious if no change is done to that file since at least 2006 and avast never say anything about it(I’ve done full systems scan and boot time scan many times till now)

It was like that before with one archive on which I never did any change for years and suddenly avast label is as suspicious(even if the files inside are 100% clean)

Evo-gen susp is Avast saying that it has not seen that version of the file for a long time and is suspicious in nature, not that it is infected but you should use caution when running it. Which makes sense as IE6 has been superceeded for a long time

Is that what you are after ?

Well if I copy the same version of the file but from even older XP version(from my virtual pc),avast don’t say anything about it

In that case there probably was something wrong with that file
