I still don’t know how this button works or for what purpose in a text box (with obviously only text on it…). Can some experienced user tell me what that button is there for? Thanks
You can embed an image in the post. That image must be available on-line, e.g. at something like photobucket.com or another image hosting site, you then paste the URL of the image between the [ img ] tags.
here
Thanks!!! (a bit complicated though…!!!)
Nothing complicated, more complicated to explain than do.
Many of the image hosting services give you a couple of links below your image you uploaded and one of those usually has the img tags on it. You will no doubt have noticed that most images (those you attach from your HDD) are at the bottom of the post.
Example image:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/for-dwr/exclusions.jpg
If you need to have it positioned in the post then you have no choice but to use the img tag and have the image available on-line so it can be displayed.
In case your interested, here is the code David used to put this picture on the forum:

If it helps… here you can know how to post a screenshot, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=8982.0
You can use Gadwin PrintScreen to get a screenshot (http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/) or the free version of WinSnap 1.1.10 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/?2173).
