Image Resizers

Is anyone familiar with resizeimage.org?
I ran it through unmaskparasites.com and it came up as Clean.
I just got a little suspicious when I simply uploaded an image and before I had even done anything else, a message popped up that, “Steve, our top monkey noticed you made some changes. Save the changes to close this warning …” Blah Blah Blah Or something like that. I was like, “I haven’t made any changes yet. There shouldn’t be anything to save yet. I simply uploaded an image.”

Anyway, this isn’t for me. I do my image resizing with either MS Word or Photoshop and / or Windows Paint, depending on what I’m doing.

But, I need to find a SAFE & Simple to run Image Resizer for a friend.
Can anyone suggest one or two? I guess it really doesn’t matter if they’re an Online Image Resizer or one that you install. As long as they’re SAFE & Simple to run

Two are shareware but the 2 freeware programs can both do resizing and come with other features.

Me I am using GIMP 2 as image Editor but I don’t know if it has resize!

Thanks, Charley! I tried out the FastStone Photo Resizer and the FastStone Image Viewer.
While I managed to quickly figure out how to work the FastStone Photo Resizer, I could tell it was gonna be too much detail, too complicated for my friend.

Then I tried the FastStone Image Viewer. At the initial glance, I went, “Oh, Shoot! This is gonna be worse.” It looked more intimidating than the other one. But, Ehhh, I still within seconds found the Resize and the Crop Icons. Once I found these Icons, the processes for each were actually simpler, easier, more logical and straightforward than operation of the FastStone Photo Resizer.

So, I guaranteed my friend that FastStone Image Viewer would do the trick for her and her Resizing and Cropping needs. I told her I’ll prepare some Step by Step instructions later in the week. A piece of cake.

Thanks again, Charley!

Oh, GIMP definitely has Resize and Cropping capability and my friend even has GIMP, but has yet to figure out how to use it. It is too complex for her.

She’ll be OK with FastStone Image Viewer.

You are welcome, Chim … Glad to be of help.

I am sure she will be able to get the hang of using it.

If this is for windows XP, there is always the ImageResizerPowertoy
A direct download is available from MySharedFiles from here

Bob, I have Windows XP, but I believe my friend has Windows Vista.

I ended up already making that detailed procedure for FastStone Image Viewer today for my friend on an MS Word Doc. I incorporated Screen Captures at every Step. She also downloaded some User’s Guide for it. She said that with my procedure and that User’s Guide, she felt confident that she’d be able to Resize and Crop images like she wanted.
