In which environment will you test avast 5 alpha/beta?

We wish to know in which environments will avast 5 be beta tested :slight_smile:
As you know, the betas are scheduled to be available on May/June 2009.

As a side information, we can see which virtualizer application are the users using :wink:

I would have to choose two options.

My main option isn’t available, because this would/will be Windows Seven.
(I use Win Seven already as my main system)
I normaly use the 32bit version, but probably (if the RC of Seven comes out) I’m also going to try the 64bit.

The second will possibly be Vista (don’t know if in a Virtual Machine or on a real system)
EDIT: if i use a virtual machine it will be Virtual PC because I already successfully run it on my Win Seven.

So my testing system will mainly be Windows Seven 32bit. :slight_smile:

I honestly don’t know if I will take part as I don’t know what the beta trial will consist of.

I’m trying to find anything different than VMWare (too many services, drivers, networks… on background).
Maybe VirtualBox is lighter on that.

Use an older version of vmware (5.0).

It was much lighter…

Windows XP 32bit and Windows Vista 64bit.

Well if avast offer me the avast home 5 beta to test it i will be sure to download it :slight_smile: but for now i still cant wait to got it but well its better that take the time to do some bad thing :slight_smile:

Since I only have one PC (Mostly Macs here :)) It will be Run in a Virtual environment, most likely Win XP under VirtualBox.

Vista 32bit and my old XP Home system if I haven’t sold it by the time the test becomes available.

if i can test it will be on a VM

probably running:
xp, vista, win7, win2k8

from which win2k8 only 64bit

I voted for XP, but there will be vista and possibly win 7 too. I have to test it before rolling out to my clients…

I now also have the RC 1 of Seven - once in the 32bit and once in the 64bit version…
So this would be my new testing systems…
1 Laptop with Seven RC1 32bit (if needed also Vista 32bit as second boot option)
1 Desktop PC with Seven RC1 64bit (if needed also Vista 64bit as second boot option)

If it then will be released somewhen…
Hopefully they don’t have problems with the developement… :-\
