India set to follow cheap car with £7 laptop
The government-developed computer prototype will assist in bridging the ‘digital divide’ between rich and poor.
I think £7 could be a mistake.
Early reports of the cheap laptop suggested that it would cost only 500 rupees (£7). However, this could be a mistranslation, because transcripts of the speech, in which it was unveiled, mentioned it costing $10 (£7) but this was later corrected to $100 (£70).
Isn’t this a Chinese area of excellence ;D
David & Frank,
Are the two of you going to race each other through the snow to get your £7 laptops ? ;D ;D ;D
No thanks, a fair bit of snow today the pond at the back of my house started to get slush filled round the edges. Some areas in the Thames Valley (were I live) were very badly hit. Pathetic really there was plenty of warning on this one, but it still crippled Road, Rail and Air travel.
I have been out and got in some supplies just in case ;D
