I have recently Downloaded avast! freeversion (home I think) and it won’ run. It says I’m missing a file called MSVCI70.dll. Is this originally on my computer, or did i not get it in the download?
mahars,
This file should have been included on your system in Windows. It is a dynamic link library file which Avast needs in its’ functionality.
If it isn’t there, then download Microsoft C++Runtime (Direct X) version 7.0.9466.0 or higher.
You can go to Microsoft supprt website and download a copy.

It will also provide you with installation instructions.
Any problems, let me know.
Just a thought,
mahars, is this a pre-configured system?
mahars, when did you download the installation program? And from where?
Between last Friday 5pm GMT and Saturday 10am GMT there was a version of setup program on our download sites that could contain this problem.
If you have downloaded the installation program in this period, please simply re-download it and use the new one.
Thanks
Vlk
