Newbie here…be easy in me.
I am trailing the pro version and I am not getting the VRDB icon in my task bar.I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times now.I know that the 2 icons have not merged.One thing that I did notice is that while installing,the program will show a list of what it is installing and it doesn’t say anything about VRDB. I have gone as far as to disable all other security programs and still nothing.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
I’ll try ;D
Do you see any option for VRDB into the ‘a’ blue icon menu (left click it)?
Indeed VRDB is always installed…
Is there any file into this folder?
\DATA\integ
Which is the date and the size of it?
Welcome 8)
There is no option for it in the “a” icon.
Very weird…while typing my response the “i” appeared in the task bar. A little late I’d say…considering I installed about 9hrs. ago.
Any ideas on why it happend
Its gone again…whats going on here
Is there any file into this folder?
\DATA\integ
Which is the date and the size of it?
There is a file in that folder…avast.int
created…10/12/2006…1:08pm
modified…10/12/2006…9:30pm
at about 9:30 I let the VRDB to its thing,when it finally showed up.
Please, click ‘Settings’ in my signature and check your avast4.ini file.
There are options for the icon on system tray
So, VRDB seems to be working ok in your computer. The problem could be the icon.
This is all I have in the VRDB section…
[VRDB]
LastFile=
FullComplete=1160714681
MergeIcons=0
Can I add the missing lines to the avast4.ini file,and if so will that help me.
Yes, you can.
You can read there ;D
[VRDB]
LastFile=
FullComplete=1160714681
MergeIcons=0
Disabled=0
ScreenSaverOnly=0
RunInterval=30240
IdleMeansSeconds=8
ShowTaskbarIcon=1
Thanks for your help…issue resolved.
I added all of those items to the avast4.ini file…worked like a charm. Wondering why they weren’t there to begin with?
Some of the default values aren’t stored in the avast4.ini mine only includes:
[VRDB] MergeIcons=1 LastFile= FullComplete=1160871597 Disabled=0 ScreenSaverOnly=1
It is just that avast lets you change things via the ini file many which don’t have a GUI means of changing them, very useful and flexible.
