Installation error HttpGet: An error 41227 (0x0000A10B)

I can’t install the new version of Avast on any of the computers in my home (Count 4 of them). All of them had 12.3.2280 before, and any attempt to update inside the program failed. So I tried, on one of them, to uninstall, run avastclear and install again, but the installer failed with this error:

Getting those URLs directly via the browser works. I have no proxy. I tried both wired and wireless connection.

I’m reluctant to use the offline installer in fear that this error will also happen for further program updates leaving me with a crippled Avast installation which can’t auto-update.

P.S. The" copy the log to clipboard" button in the installer seems to miss the separators between the columns, which is an unrelated bug.

Remove everything from avast completely and try the offline installer.

Hey there Everyone!

Since then (when the same problem occured to me) I was quite a “hit n’ run” guy, so if I cannot find a solution to a problem like this, I’ve “Googled” it, then I almost always can find an answer in half an hour or less, which helps me through.
But not this time…
I’ve spent 5-6 hours trying to resolve this problem, and cannot find a precise answer to this thread, which actually works…
I’ve also tried to install Avast from an offline one, but it cannot refreshes the “logs” and etc…

Then finally I’ve find a french comment section somewhere - the solution they’ve mentioned is quite simple:

  • just change Your internet connection (or provider) to a different one!
    That’s all! :wink:
    Since then it will work and install fine! ;D

I hope this will help You all - facing with the same problem when trying to install Avast in online mode or even when after it won’t updating via offline installer (due to corrupted internet connection - I guess) as well.

If you use custom DNS servers you probably have to change it.

In a french Windows 7 :

[ol]- Panneau de configuration > Réseau et Internet > Connexion réseau

  • Clic droit sur la carte en cours d’utilisation (Connexion au réseau local)
  • Propriété > (onglet) Gestion de réseau
  • Double clic sur “Protocole Internet version 4 (TCP/IPv4)”[/ol]
