Hi,
I installed the latest Avast Free Antivirus and there appeared to be no issues while installing it, however, the security browser extension did not get installed
If I look at the Components under Settings, the extension appears to be installed but Chrome isn’t detecting it for some reason. I don’t see those trust indicators next to the URLs in the search results
[size=12pt]Here’s what I’ve tried till now
[i]1. I uninstalled the “Security Browser Extension” component and then, restarted the system as recommended by Avast.

Next, I opened Avast, went to its Settings, installed the component back, opened Chrome, but still the extension did’t get detected

I’ve reset Chrome and even reinstalled it but to no avail. I am using the latest 64 bit version of Chrome by the way

I’ve also uninstalled Avast completely and reinstalled it later but the issue still exists[/i]
Just in case if you need to know about my system, I have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with the anniversary update and the latest build as you can see in one of the attached screenshots
It’s a new system with no issues. I’ve also run sfc /scannow and there were no violations, there are no other antimalware installed either
There are no issues with my primary hard drive where Avast is installed, just in case anyone’s wondering. I’ve run chkdsk /r and other diagnostic tests and they’ve all been successful
I just have 3 startup items of which just Avast is enabled. I’ve attached a screenshot that shows all the startup items
