I am using avast 4 home ,win xp, outlook express 6

Any other security software installed?
Already tried to setup the mail as if Avast isn’t there? (recreate the account)
Already increased the timeout in OE and Avast4.ini?

i have just increased the timeouts in oe and avast 4
i also get an email error all the time it is

that is your outgoing server error, it means your isp’s mail server may be down, check with them. Verizon DSL customers have been experiencing this throughout the week due to a system being down at uunet
