Of course it is appearing. Any security product does this. You cannot turn off the tray icon. You can only turn off the spinning animation of it. Also you cannot disable avastUI.exe. That is normal. So there is nothing wrong at all with Avast. What you are seeing is normal. Why do you feel the need to turn off the tray icon? If it bothers you then use Windows to hide it. Its that easy.
If you disable AvastUI.exe, you won’t be able to connect to the Internet.
I agree with, it should be disabled. I can’t see a reason for it, unless it’s a backdoor for Google., since all the connections are made through AvastSVC.exe.
The avastUI.exe has nothing to do with your internet connection, so shouldn’t stop you from connecting.

You are right. When you shut it down, the Avast icon disappears and you no longer have access to to the Avast interface.
So what does this mean? Does it mean that the whole Avast program is not stored on the home computer, and you have to allow this connection to Google in order to see the Avast interface?

What does Google have to do with Avast? Can you elaborate please. Windows allows you to hide or show icons. Been like that since the Win 98 days. So let your OS hide the icon. Its that easy.

I am not interested in hiding the icon. I want an answer to my question.
Have you ever looked at the Network Connections in the Firewall?
Avast has a constant established connection to Google.
I have brought this subject up several times, and each time it is ignored.
Did you notice that David snipped my post and removed the part about Google?
You didn’t say why you don’t want it displayed, as I can’t see any purpose in doing this as you lose access to the interface ?
Just stopping the display of the icon won’t stop avastUI.exe from running, but you didn’t ask about that. If that is your intention then my question is even more relevant than for just hiding the tray icon.

Well the point of this topic is to answer the OPs question and not deviate off-topic.
When I reply I only quote the elements that I am responding to and your aside question I wasn’t intending to comment on. But you also have to quote correctly as you remove the upper quote reference and that messes with the whole quoted format, this leaves unreferenced comments in the post.
