Yesterday on April the 29th I requested for a License for avast! 4 for Linux on this page: http://www.avast.com/linux-unix-trial-license-request.php
I received the license and installed it at /var/lib/avast4/License.dat
After avastd did not start with the message “warning: section ‘local’ is expired or has invalid license file” I looked into the License File where it says: “License expiry date: Apr 18, 2010”
How can it happen that I request and receive an license on April 29th which has already been expired on April 18th?
Is it possible to get a valid Demo-License?
I was very happy to find a linux-based av-system which has qmail-integration built-in, but I am not able to test it.
Would be nice if you could fix that problem.
Hmm, just tried it now, pretending to be the remote customer, and it works correctly… as it seems. Might be some date-dependent flaw, we’ll have look at it.
Thank you for you help.
I can redirect you the mail with the license which has been send to me if it helps.
Greetings!
EDIT: I requested a new license with an different Mail-Adress and this one works. As you suggested, it seems to be a date-dependent flaw or whatever. Now it works.
