IP: 72.51.11.32 ...does avast! use this?

I feel like I have some ad-ware on my PC because avast! told me so ( ), of course I deleted the file when prompted to,and have recently restored (so that I’d get the system file back that I deleted; from before I was alerted of this ad-ware), now I am just checking to see if I still have it or any others. So, after restoring I did netstat -a in CMD and this connection appeared on the list: TCP funfactory:1042 72.51.11.32:http. I’ve never used netstat at start-up so I don’t know what connections are made, however, I do know that avast! tends to update more often than not each time I log on so obviously it makes a connection, so, my question is: does avast! connect to said IP (72.51.11.32) address?

Edit: I just started avast! anti-virus (right click option of the system tray icon) and I just got alerted that the ad-ware is back.

Hi Jason.369,

Try a boot time scan with avast! Right click the scanner screen, select ‘schedule a boot time scan’ and reboot when requested.

Try the usual free adware/spyware scanners.

Ad-Aware Free
Spybot Search & Destroy
SUPERAntiSpyware Free

Download, install and update the programs. Disconnect from the internet (pull the plug) before running scans in Safe Mode if possible.

Always select the option to quarantine any malware found rather than delete it, then you will be able to restore files or registry entries wrongly identified as malware- a rare but not unknown event for any malware scanner.
