is anyone having difficulty with avast data shredder?

Only recently i have found it impossible to shred data with Avast Data shredder. Either through right click shortcut or using the programmes file tree approach. simply comes up with an error log and the file destination line.
Checked my account to find all my licenses are in order.
Should one uninstall and reinstall the entirety of the suit i have or just try uninstalling the the data shredder utility on its own??

What is the error ?
What file/path does it mention ?

it just come up with:

Operation Failed
error log c:programData\AVAST software\Avast\log\shredder.log

And what is in the log file about the problem ?

I am having the same issue, after attempting to shred old deleted files. It states data shredder operation failed and shows a link for the log and after I click on the log file to view its contents it doesn’t load, just shows a white blank window with no information. So then I go to the actual folder location in my C:drive and find the file but it doesn’t open because it says it cannot be accessed because another process is currently using that file… Help would be much appreciated

I tried to delete a file and it would not let me because Data Shredder was controlling the computer. I thought I deleted the file with data shredder then it replicated the file I was trying to delete and it used up all my disc space. I am now going to spend money to have my computer fixed. Microsoft says that the more I tried to delete the file, the more it just replicated. I don’t want anything to control my computer so that I do not have total control. Very weird. NOT happy at all. >:(

There is no need to spend money.l
Simply boot in safe mode and delete all the temp files data schredder has created.

Right! and next time suggest letting the program complete – don’t stop it before it is done. Gigabytes of trash data takes time to finish. If you stopped it before it was done don’t do that.

Hi, i have a problem with data shredder, i ran it to delete old deleted file and at 93% avast stopped working, so i had to force reboot and now all of my hdd space has been used, I booted in safe mode to try and locate the temp files, but i cannot find them anywhere, and we are talking around 430g!.. anyways i run windows 10, could you point me to where you reckon the temp files are located? Oh, i also opened the folder and marked the show hidden files also, but still could not find them…thanks

I am having the same problem on two devices, and can’t figure out as to why I have no space on both of them!
