Is Cold Turkey malware?

Installed Cold Turkey “distraction management” software (shut off browser for a set period of time). It worked GREAT, but today Avast alerted me that it had a bad two star rating and could operate as spyware. I don’t see a lot about this online, does anyone have any info as to weather this may be a false positive? Thanks…

Are you a business?

Yes, that’s the program. And nope, I’m not a business. Just using it to lock down after reading the morning news, access at lunch time to catch up then lock down again until evening so the day’s real life work can get done without distraction.

Make that “whether” this might be a false positive.
I’ve never had an alert like that from Avast. I have had Avast block links I’ve tried to go to with a virus alert, and never gotten a virus thanks to Avast. (As opposed to Norton, which might alert me that I’d gotten a virus after the fact!)

In my humble opinion for the Android platform it is not a false positive.

Thanks, Polonus, whether you are a bot or not.

Polonus, and I are users just like you, we don’t work for Avast.

Hi pol,

what’s the difference between passive and active IP address?
Another question: doesn’t it also depend on which machine I’m using or if I’m using more than 1?

Groetjes.
