Is it worth installing EMET v4.0 on W8

G’day all,

Is it worth installing the latest EMET v4.0 on W8 as I think I have enough security protection according to my sig below to go without it ??? ??? ??? ???

You do have a lot of unnecessary overlapping there Speedy, I don’t think EMET is needed since you already have Outpost blocking unwanted changes plus WinPatrols abilities are sort of cut in half with Outpost also ( Winpatrol doesn’t monitor/protect the host file with Outpost installed as WinPatrol gives first preference to other programs that perform the same task ) which really leaves WinPatrol only good for monitoring what programs are running.
Hitman Pro and EAM I wouldn’t bother with either as avast and Malwarebytes have you covered there imo, Zemana AL not needed as Outpost will also prevent keylogging :slight_smile:

Thanks for that Craig and this why I need to do a bit of clean up unnecessary overlapping just to make sure :wink:

Edit: I’ve been told that Outpost doesn’t prevent keylogging is that true ??? ???

Well the hips component of Outpost would notify you if a keylogger tried to install itself so it’s up to the user to then block it, obviously if the user just clicks ok on the Outpost popup without checking the process their allowing then the keylogger has free raine, I believe you would have better judgement Speedy and would read those popups :slight_smile:
