My computer recently has strange behaviors like random slowdown, USB drive always “not formatted”, .NET exceptions about something a I don’t know and finally at the windows screen right after logged in (when programs are starting up) a windows without a name appears and disappears very quickly. I suspicious that my PC infected with a new/undetected virus. Is there a way that I can take report about programs running and send it to Avast?

Or you can run a full computer on-line scanning:

Hey someone help me please. I scanned but no result and now things get worse. I can’t find the system restore tab anymore.

And some programs have been deleted. And if I have to reinstall Windows will Avast! recognize the license file? I’m really really panic now.

Well no method works to return that tab back but at lest I can disable SR. Now I can delete those backup files and free some disk space. And things left here are to scan the worm out and to fix the windows.

Well that was gust two of the links in the google search, I don’t know if you have tried any of the other hits.

Finally!! Really painful but finally brought it back. Just the same method of editing registry but it does not work to bring back the tab just en/disable the SR. And they posted it everywhere. Only the method of install the config from XP CD works. My XP is legal but OEM so I don’t have XP CD. The pir@ted CD saved me this time :-[

Now finally time to deal with the worm itself. My programs mostly portable were deleted or some components were deleted. Scan with 3-4 scanner but no luck. A couple of virus were deleted but the programs keep getting deleted. So the cause is still there.
