Say you feel your machine is infected and Avast is either not finding the virus or cannot get rid of it. Is there a way to use remote assistance to run a remote virus scan from the remote computer (i.e. running a scan from a clean system)?
the remote assistance allows you to access your computer A from different machine [b]B/b. However when you run anything through the remote access you are running it on the same machine A as you could do locally. It means there is no difference…
So, the only point for remote assistance is to have some check things out on your computer. I would suggest to Avast, that they allow for some sort of secure remote scanning, in the case that a computer is compromised. That would be a GREAT use for remote assistance. Unless they are “free” rent a geeks who can figure out what is wrong with a system.
In order to use the avast remote assistance feature, avast needs to be installed on the local and remote machine. If avast doesn’t find the infection locally, it doesn’t have a greater chance of finding it remotely even if it could be done.
You could use a free online scanner.
