Hello friends!
This morning when I turned on my computer this page poped up
http://aos.avast.com/upgrade/1006
I am just wondering if it is a real Avast Page before clicking on any of the links.
I have Avast Premier.
Thanks!

Yes that is an update to the online security plugin
Thanks Essexboy!
when I click on : If after installing this product, you’d prefer not to participate in this generic data gathering, you can opt-out in the Settings page.
6 Chrome pages open up at the same time, they are all the same page: chrome-extension://gomekmidlodglbbmalcneegieacbdmki/options.html
Is this normal?
I do believe I already have that…is it the green round logo from avast on the upper right corner that when you click it gives you a number and number of companies that were trying to track you?
Thanks!
Personally I do not use the AOS plugin as it has problems with windows 8 and IE11, give it a try and see what you think. It is easy enough to disable if you do not feel the need for it
Thanks!
I use avast free version and was getting the same “http://aos.avast.com/upgrade/1006” tab opening every time I open a new page which for me was quite intolerable. I tried removing the plug in but it reinstalled itself. I then had to go to the aos options and disable every option including anti-phishing, etc. That has taken care of it.
Is there anywhere in between that will still leave me with some kind of online protection?
